Cathy has been based in Malta for the past eight years and has held the post of Principal at SOPA since July 2018.
She holds a BMus degree specialising in vocal pedadogy from the Conservatory of Music and Drama, Dublin coupled with a MA in Creativity and Innovation (UoM) and the LTCL in Singing.
With a keen interest in arts and cultural management Cathy held the post of Events Manager at Teatru Manoel from 2013 – 2016 where she managed The Valletta International Baroque Festival as well as concerts, opera, theatre and dance productions. An established project manager in the arts and cultural field, Cathy has worked in a freelance capacity in the sector for the a number of years managing a series of projects for organisations such as Teatru Manoel, Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, Malta School of Music, MACM, Unifaun Theatre Productions as well as The Maltese Islands Festival of Drama, Music, Singing and Dance.
She also is a founding member of the theatre collective ‘The Shrinking Violets’.
Music and arts education remains a strong priority for Cathy, whereby she has always retained her singing, teaching and ensemble vocal coaching.
She is a strong advocator for promoting standards, excellence and personal growth through high-quality training in the performing arts, as well as striving to improve the level of arts education across mainstream curriculum in schools.
