Francesca has performed in concerts all around the UK as well as in Italy and Germany and has premiered the works of several prominent Maltese composers.

Francesca Aquilina completed the MA Opera course at the RWCMD where she studied with Suzanne Murphy and was coached by Sharon Richards and Angela Livingstone.
In Malta, she has trained with Gillian Zammit and Juliette Bisazza. She is now under the guidance of Denise Mulholland. She received a Bachelor of Music (Honours) first-class degree from Edinburgh Napier University. Her roles have included ‘Gretel’ in Humperdink’s Hansel and Gretel, ‘Bastienna’ in Mozart’s Bastien and Bastienna and ‘Inez’ in Verdi’s Il Trovatore.
In the UK, she sang the role of ‘Eurydice’ in Opera’r Ddraig’s production of Offenbach’s Orpheus in the Underworld as well as ‘Despina’ with the same company for their production of Cosi fan Tutte at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. At the RWCMD, Francesca played the role of ‘Tina’ in Jonathan Dove’s Flight and ‘Papagena’ in their production of The Magic Flute as well as reprising the role of ‘Despina’ in their production of Cosi Fan Tutte. Francesca sang ‘Adina’ in Winterbourne Opera’s production of The Elixir Of Love and sang the role of ‘Jenny’ in Welsh National Opera’s touring production of My Perfect World. In the UK she has sung with Clonter Opera as well as singing with VIBE in London as part of the CHOGM Malta celebrations.
In Malta, she sang ‘Gianetta’ in the Teatru Manoel production of L’Elisir d’Amore and sang the Pergolesi Stabat Mater with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra as well as singing the role of ‘Amour’ in Teatru Manoel’s production of Orfee et Euridice.
She spent 2 months in the Netherlands touring with a Dutch company where she played the role of the ‘High Priestess’ in Opera Spanga’s production of Aida in the Netherlands and as part of the V18 programme in Malta.
Francesca has performed in concerts all around the UK as well as in Italy and Germany and has premiered the works of several prominent Maltese composers. Francesca is a respected exponent of Baroque music having performed regularly with the Valletta International Baroque Ensemble (VIBE) both locally and abroad as well as with the Monteverdi Project.
