Following various auditions SOPA students were selected to form part of the cast in several local productions which will take place over the next three months.
Michela Manduca together with former SOPA student Giulia Xuereb have been cast in Evan Placey’s play ‘Girls Like That. This contemporary play explores gender equality and the pressure on today’s digital generation. The play will be performed in October.
Rachel Micallef Somerville successfully auditioned for the play ‘The Prime of Ms Jean Brodie,’ by Jay Presson Allen. This play looks at how a teacher sets about to manipulate a group of students and brainwashes them into following her ideologies.
Also performing in October, Greta Holland, Sean Azzopardi, Lilly Poppy Gabriele, Alexia Manduca, Bettina Zammit and Aleks Andrejevic, in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s ‘The Sound of Music.’
In December Sean Azzopardi, Hannah Spiteri, Ella Manduca, David Coppini and Katrina DeMarco will be participating in the Xmas Panto ‘Unbelieve it’. This Panto is based on the popular musical ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.’
