What A Piece of Work Is Man

Twenty-two members of SOPA’s Youth Company will be heading to Ayr in three weeks time to perform during the National Festival of Youth Theatre being held in Scotland. ‘What A Piece of Work is Man,’ is an original piece that explores different scenarios which could result if Man is not careful about the environment. Will Oberon be able to save the day?

Inspired by Shakespeare’s Dream, the script has been written by Ms Denise Mulholland (Head of Drama Troupe) & the company members. The piece includes original music by SOPA tutor Tom Armitage.

Tickets for the show can be purchased at: //ayrgaiety.co.uk/national-festival-of-youth-theatre/

Company members will also have the opportunity to participate in various workshops including ‘The Art of Improvised Comedy,’ with Charles Hindley, ‘Out Loud,’ with Layla Josephine, ‘Puppetry Comes To Life,’ with Daniel Livingston and ‘NFYT Scratch,’ with Andy McGregor and ‘Scott Gilmour. Lorraine Aquilina (SOPA Artistic Director) who will be accompanying the group, will also be conducting a workshop entitled ‘Dreams and Nightmares- Exploring Physical Boundaries.’

Wishing the best of luck to our students for their upcoming performance!
