Benefits of learning music, singing or an instrument

From playing music to an unborn baby all the way through one’s adult life, music of any genre is something that can move and uplift like no other experience. The so called ‘Mozart effect’, when babies and children are exposed to classical music, reputedly enhances various senses.

It is a fact that activities which engage both sides of the brain at the same time, such as playing an instrument or singing, cause the brain to be more capable of processing information. Musical training has an even better effect than just listening to music.

Children who take music lessons develop a better memory and concentration skills compared with children who have no musical training. Music can also help to relieve stress and anxiety, so whether you are looking at becoming a performer, or would just like to enhance your musical understanding and appreciation music lessons are highly recommended.
